Abstract
Levinson and colleagues present a fascinating study of women in academic medicine (Nov. 30 issue).* In their survey they found that 71.5 percent of the respondents were married and 63 percent had children; the vast majority of these women were between the ages of 31 and 50. In order to interpret the implications of these statistics better, it would be interesting to know how they compare with statistics on women in other populations.
