Observation of wavelength bistability in 850nm Vertical-Cavity Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers (VCSOAs)

Abstract

The experimental observation of wavelength bistability in an 850nm VCSOA is reported. Clockwise hystereses are obtained with input wavelength sweeping when the input power is kept constant. Results are in good agreement with theoretical predictions.
