Abstract

HPV has been associated with a broad spectrum of disease that ranges from asymptomatic latent infection to warts to squamous cell carcinoma. This virus infects mucosal and cutaneous sites of immunocompetent as well as immunosuppressed patients. The epidemiology of HPV infection is of interest to those trying to understand this dynamic process.
