Abstract

Absence of early-diastolic blood flow velocity was recorded from the umbilical artery of a fetus with severe myocardial and valvular insufficiency. The blood flow at late diastole was normal. This flow pattern mayindicate the need for a detailed ultrasonic examination of the fetal heart.
