N1 - Funding Information: Dr. Choi reports equity in Cleerly, Inc and grant support from the GW Heart and Vascular Institute. Dr Leipsic is a consultant to and holds stock options in Circle CVI and Heartflow and has received research grants ( CT core laboratory) from Edwards Lifesciences , Medtronic , Abbott , Pi Cardia, Neovasc, and Boston Scientific . Dr. Leipsic is on the speaker bureau for Philips and GE Healthcare. Dr. Ferencik has received grant support from the American Heart Association and National Institutes of Health and consultant fees from Biograph, Inc. Funding Information: The writing group recognized, when discussing competencies, procedural numbers and metrics, that the standards of competency must remain achievable for cardiovascular imaging trainees of CCT to remain attractive for practice and for ensuring an adequate pool of trained imagers. The demand for highly trained CCT imagers is expected to significantly grow in the coming years and this document was forward-focused from its inception. Advocacy efforts at increasing reimbursement and access to CCT remain high priorities for the SCCT. Implementation of the recommendations from a 2019 American College of Cardiology led CCT summit include an array of cardiology, radiology and industry stakeholders to increase payment, identify financial support to increase CCT providers and improve end-user clinician education hold significant promise and will drive this demand for well-trained CCT imagers.13 It is hoped that this new guideline will enable important fundamental shifts in CCT imaging to disseminate throughout the world through application in SCCT-run workshops, co-sponsored events and endorsed courses. It is expected that this guideline will supplement existing international training statements. Defining the timing of guideline implementation, application to imagers already in practice and allowing for a “grandfather” period remain further areas for refinement by the SCCT.Dr. Choi reports equity in Cleerly, Inc and grant support from the GW Heart and Vascular Institute.
