Abstract
With the development of methodologies for the manufacture of human growth hormone in essentially unlimited quantities, the capability now exists for treatment of a wide variety of growth disorders besides growth hormone deficiency. It is, consequently, all the more important that a rational basis be developed for the evaluation of children with growth failure so that diagnostic and therapeutic strategies can be based on sound and logical medical practice.
