Abstract

'Structure and function of man', first published in 1965, has now appeared in a 4th, rewritten edition. The fundamental physiological processes in particular are now treated in much more detail in order that the target group, students of paramedical disciplines, may gain a better insight. Of the illustrations, 67 have been revised and 59 new ones added, bringing the total to 518. The book consists of 4 so-called units: 1) Introduction: body as a whole, the all, tissues; 2) Framework of the body: skin, skeletal articular and muscular system; 3) Integration and metabolism: the systematic anatomy; 4) Reproduction. Appendices on chemistry, anatomical nomenclature, a list of references, a glossary and an extensive index complete this book.
