Abstract

This case discusses a pharmacokinetic interaction between nortriptyline and methadone, resulting in tricyclic antidepressant toxicity. Nortriptyline is a cytochrome P450 (CYP) 2D6 and 3A4 substrate. Methadone is an inhibitor of those enzymes.
