Random walks for spike-timing-dependent plasticity

The moments of negative image equilibrium distributions in synaptic weight dynamics governed by spike-dependent plasticity, were calculated using random walk methods. From the master equation of the random walk, a differential equation was derived for the Fourier transform of the equilibrium weight distribution. Implicit expressions were derived for all moments of the equilibrium weight distribution. Explicit closed form solutions were developed for the covariance of the synaptic weight and postsynaptic potential distributions.
