    Abstract

Pseudogout is a great mimicker of other forms of arthritis, often leading to diagnostic confusion. The association of pseudogout and fever is less widely recognized. We describe eight patients in whom fever was a prominent manifestation of pseudogout leading to misdiagnosis, overinvestigation, and a delay in appropriate treatment. (JAMA 1981;246:1438-1440).
