Abstract
Three important room-temperature ionic liquids (RTILs) were prepared using straightforward precipitation reactions, I-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate ([EMIM]+[BF4]-), N-ethyl pyridinium tetrafluoroborate ([EtPy]+[BF4]-) and N-ethyl pyridinium trifluoroacetate ([EtPy]+[CF3OO]-). They were characterized by density measurements and IR spectroscopy.
