Phase transients in NMR probe circuits

Abstract

NMR pulse transients for a tuned and matched probe circuit excited by a voltage source are calculated for the case of exact match and overcoupled or mismatched conditions. The consequences of finite rise and fall times on the pulse envelope are also explored. The quadrature transients calculated from the model are compared with experimental observations made on a breadboard probe circuit.
