Meptazinol used after open heart surgery

Abstract

Meptazinol was administred in dosages of 30 mg and 60 mg respectively to two groups of adult patients following open heart surgery. No change in blood gases, acid base status, systemic and central venous pressure were noted. The significance of this is discussed.
