Low power optical bistability in 1550 nm VCSOAs

Abstract

Clockwise and counterclockwise bistability are demonstrated in 1550 nm VCSOAs at input powers two orders of magnitude lower than previously. Butterfly bistability is also observed for the first time in VCSOAs.
