Abstract

1. 1. A technique for production of experimental malignant melanoma of the iris in Syrian Golden hamsters with two different strains of malignant melanoma is described. 2. 2. A description of the variable effects of the different malignant melanomas is given. 3. 3. Early studies indicate that enucleation of a melanoma-bearing eye is a valuable therapeutic measure. 4. 4. The similarity of the human and experimental malignant melanoma and the value of the experimental approach to clinical study of human neoplasia is pointed out.
