Abstract

Improvements in ureteroscopes now allow us to better evaluate and treat patients with possible upper urinary tract disorders. Flexible ureteroscopy is particularly useful in evaluating patients with upper urinary tract filling defects and patients with benign essential hematuria. The indications, technique, and results of diagnostic ureteroscopy are reviewed.
