Abstract
The Child Behavior Checklist (or CBCL) is one of the most utilized measuring instruments of infantile psycho-pathologies at the international level for research and clinical practice. This work presents the preliminary results of the French adaptation of this instrument. The scores obtained by French children aged 4 to 16 on the scales derived from the CBCL have been established. The factor structure of the French version has been examined for a sub-sample of consulting boys aged 6 to 11. Our results confirm the discriminant validity of the French version and underline the cross-cultural stability of most of the regroupings derived from the CBCL, consolidating its trans-cultural validity.
