Causes of a Decreased Ultrafiltration Rate in CAVH

Research output: Contribution to journalArticle

Abstract

I have found that ultrafiltration rates during CA VHseem to fall off by 50% or more during thefirst few hours of use. I cannot explain this on the basis of changes in blood pressure or clotting. What might account for this observation? Can anything be done to maintain the higher filtration rate?
