Arc-shaped waveguide switch based on the third-order nonlinear effect

Abstract

An arc shaped waveguide switch (ASWS) based on the third-order nonlinear effect was proposed. The switching characteristics were investigated by means of the beam propagation method. The saturation and absorption was found to deteriorate the switching characteristics. The transmission curve of the switch versus the input power was plotted to show the switching characteristics of ASWS.
