Abstract
The14N quadrupole coupling constant (QCC) for methyl isocyanide obtained from 1H and 14N N.M.R. measurements in liquid crystal solutions is reported as a function of temperature for two liquid crystal solvents. A marked linear temperature dependence is observed in both solvents. The measured QCC varies by 20 per cent over a 50°C range.
