Abstract

This case discusses a possible and/or likely pharmacokinetic interaction involving warfarin, metronidazole, and ciprofl oxacin, leading to bleeding complications. Warfarin is a cytochrome P450 2C9 and 1A2 substrate. Metronidazole is a 2C9 inhibitor and ciprofl oxacin is a 1A2 inhibitor.
