Abstract

A method for the rapid measurement of plasma estradiol in late pregnancy and of plasma cortisol is described. It utilizes specific antisera co-polymerized in a solid phase of polyacrylamide gel, thus eliminating the need for chromatography, long incubation times, and the necessity for controlling accurately the time used for separation of bound and free labeled steroid. Interassay precision is satisfactory and only 0.1 ml of plasma is necessary in both cases.
